We finally got the opportunity to break away from a totally overloaded calendar. April is shaping up to be our busiest month so far this year....maybe even ever! With both Men's and Women's Faith Walks (which we are both serving), a growing Noonday ministry and business, two Bradley series, and the usual AWANA, soccer, ballet and prenatal visits with our midwife...some days seem upside down. Our family is one of our most important priorities! Being pulled in so many different directions can sometimes get us bogged down, worn out and seemingly close to burned out. Together Marcus and I planned four getaways for the coming months. We need time to get away from life's distractions and refocus on what is truly important. We took an overnight trip to Natchez Trace State park. Camping gives our family the opportunity to leave a million things behind for a time (they are always waiting when we get back!) and enjoy one another, focus on our children, have real conversations, enjoy quiet, and experience true peace. The Lord has provided such beauty and wonder. We have noticed that when we rest in Him, He shows Himself to us in ways we miss otherwise. He is there in the breeze...He is there in cool waters on our feet...He is there in a morning sunrise and an evening sunset...He is even there in a crackling fire and with the sounds of birds chirping. For some of us He is in the mud, the sand, and insects. We enjoy exploring the hiking paths, cooking over a fire, and snuggling together in our tent at night. No televisions, no radios, no game systems, no neighbors...just us. We like it that way!
